The Sands Casino in Bethlehem, PA was built with high expectations and plans for extravagant hotels and features. However, the unexpected recession caused them to hault construction on a massive hotel/resort partway through the project.
Everyone is celebrating now that they got the ok to continue construction over a year later. They will be completing the 300 room hotel and did the “re-groundbreaking” to signify the start of the end.
Besides making the casino atmosphere better, this project brings a lot of jobs to the area. They have brought on 100 construction workers for the project and after that, another 100 workers will be needed to work at the hotel.
In the beginning, the place planned to have a hotel, mall, casino, and event center and they are still waiting on the mall and event center. This recession has hit a lot of people hard and I can imagine how it must have been impossible to finish these projects.
The casino will be getting table games this summer so if you are traveling and looking for something to do, check out the Sands casino and hotel and let me know how it is.

Add Texas to the list of US states that are deeply in need of money and considering legalizing certain forms of gambling. The whole world has been hit hard and the economy has really taken it’s toll on the individual US states and their budget. Many of the states need more money and think legalizing gambling is the best way to get it.
A small expansion would mean bringing slot machines to racetracks in the state of Texas. A larger expansion would mean building large casinos that allow full blown gambling. House Budget Chief, Jim Pitts, recognizes that gambling could help and something may happen with this plan.
The budget cuts they might need to take affect education, prisons, and other state run programs. That is why they are considering gambling as the answer.
The plan may work and it may not but it’s worth a shot- I say pass this legislation. Do you agree?

NBA star and international super star Allen Iverson is reported to have gambling and drinking issues. These announcements in an Philadelphia, USA newspaper are the latest problems in the downhill fall of one of the NBA’s greatest guards of all time. His career looks to be over, his wife filed for divorce, his child is very sick and now this.
I understand that we should stay out of his private life and leave him alone especially because he is going through such hard times but I just wanted to focus on the gambling issue because he is an international figure and it is important that others don’t follow in his footsteps and get gambling addiction problems.
The article said that Iverson is already banned from some casinos across the US and that he needs help wherever he can get it. The writer said he heard this information from multiple league sources but Iverson is saying other wise.
He admits he is going through hard times but says some of the things that have come out recently are made up. If he needs help I hope he gets it and I just wanted to bring this to the attention of the gambling fans across the world. Gambling is fun but we all just need to do it responsibly…
Now go win some money!
