There is something about casinos and gambling, most likely the presence of large amounts of money, that seems to encourage people to cheat, lie, steal or scam their way into a jackpot, instead of simply trying to win by random chance. It’s people like this that make it necessary for casinos to spend such a large amount of time, money and effort on security. Security generally starts on the floor of the casino, where the dealers keep their eyes on the games and their customers to make sure each game goes as it should. Dealers are always heavily focused on their own game and usually can spot blatant cheats like palming, marking or switching cards or dice with considerable ease.
Table managers and pit bosses will watch over the table games with a broader view, making sure the players are not stealing from each other and keeping an eye out for betting patterns that could signal cheating. Every person in the casino also has a “higher up” person tracking them, watching them as they work and noting how much money their tables are winning or losing. Electronic security systems are also used and you can bet there’s a camera watching you anywhere you go within the casino!
There are tons of casinos I have been to in my life but I really do not think I could pick a favorite. What ones do you like? Also this photo is from flickr and I just thought it was an amazing picture.
