Gambling has been in the news recently for negative reasons. 3-time NBA All-Star Antoine Walker is yet another celebrity with gambling problems. Supposedly he owes 3 different Vegas casinos a combined $822,500 and is being taken to court for the fees.
On top of losing that much money gambling, it seems like he may not have enough to pay it all off. He has been accused of writing bad checks for $100,000 that won’t go through causing the casinos to bring upon these charges.
Earlier in the month, the Boston Globe reported that walker gambled away his $110 million in career earnings as well has items including his mother’s mansion but sources close to him have said that isn’t true.
Whether it is true or not, it’s clear that Walker has a gambling issue that needs to be dealt with and should have been dealt with long ago. I wish the best for him but since he is a famous athlete, good things can come from this. This event can open the eyes of many people in his situation who can now see how serious gambling can be. Have fun out there but be careful.

Sorry everyone! I’ve been too busy watching and enjoying this years world series of poker with my friends that I forgot to write about it in a while. I hope you have all been watching it- if not, I will fill you in in the next few days. Also, if you haven’t, you better tune in tonight on ESPN for the GRAND FINALE. A winner will be crowned in the main event and receive millions! Of course the winner has already been leaked but I try to ignore that and watch the show like I don’t know the out come. Here is what to look forward to at the final table:
One interesting and relatively unknown player to watch is Joe Cada. He is only 21 and skipped college to be a professional poker player. If he wins, it will pay off big time for him. Not only will he win over $8 million, but he will be the youngest champion to ever win the main event.
As for the competition tonight, it should be very exciting. Watch for some big moves and bluffs because all of the players can taste the millions and the bracelet by now. They all want it and will be pulling out all the tricks they have. Take some notes because who knows, maybe that can be you next year.
