In the United States there used to be 2 places you could go to play table games (poker, blackjack, roulette, etc). Those 2 places were Las Vegas, Nevada and Atlantic City, New Jersey. People from all over the country would flock to those 2 places to get in on the action. It would be a special trip some people took once every year or two. Now people in many states can gamble in their own cities.
Because of the recession that has hit the entire world, various states in the US are having a lot of trouble with their budget. The is losing money and needs some to keep the state operating. Many states have decided that the best way to raise money for the government is poker. Places like Pennsylvania and Delaware have passed laws that would bring table games to casinos.
In Pennsylvania the law was already passed and the table games are coming within 6 months. Times are changing. A few years ago, nobody gambled and people thought it was for “low-lifes”. Now poker is always on TV, children are gambling in school and table games are popping up all across America- What a world!
